Day 7!

Hello readers and welcome to my very last blog for this trip! I have learned so much more on this trip than I could have ever imagined! I am so so grateful for this opportunity and for the people that have been joining me on this journey. On our final day, we woke up, finished our packing, and then had breakfast at the hotel. We then went to the park for the very last time. I drew some more sketches of the people there. I will show them below. We spent our last couple hours in this park doing a lot of art. We had lunch in the park and then packed up to go. We then went to the airport and we headed home. It was such an incredible trip that I will never forget. I am beyond grateful for those that supported this trip as well as me. I am also thankful for my mom and grandma who joined me on this trip. They truly enjoyed it as well. While I am glad to be home, I am also sad to be leaving Orlando. I hope to one day soon return to Florida to be able to immerse myself in this art again! But fo...

Day 6!

Welcome back readers to the second to last day of my spring at sage trip here in Orlando! I am so sad that the trip is coming to a close, however we still have so much more things to do so I am excited to get started! Today we have a very loose schedule so it is mainly up to us to go around and explore. The first thing we did after breakfast was go to a Bob Ross painting class! It was extremely fun and I learned so much! I enjoyed talking with the other students in the class as well! I was definitely the youngest there! Everyone in the class was around the age of 50! So I enjoyed talking to each of them and hearing why they wanted to take the class. They all said that they used to watch Bob Ross and his show on TV. He used to have an art show where he would show people how to paint beautiful and easy paintings in one hour! They used to love it and it inspired them to take classes now! After the class, we had lunch at a park nearby. I was inspired by the people that i saw around me, so ...

Day 5!

Hello all and welcome back to another day of my trip! Today is my first study of Bob Ross and I am very excited to begin this part of my trip! We woke early this morning to watch the sunset and do some paintings. We then got ready for the day ahead. In order to truly understand the art of Bob Ross, I had to talk to an expert on him. After breakfast, we traveled to the Orlando Museum of Art in order to learn more on him. This is a world known museum, it houses some of the most important art in the world. Thus making it a great spot to learn about our next artist. I learned so much about Bob Ross's life and what inspired him to paint. Every artist has their own history on what makes want to paint. Bob Ross just wanted to make people smile. He wanted to show everybody that anyone can paint. This is what makes him a special artist, and it shows in his work. After our meeting with the historian, we had lunch nearby. We then later returned to the museum to be able to walk around and enjo...

Day 4!

Welcome once again readers to my blog! Today is day 4 on my journey and we are moving right into the next line of artists that we will be exploring on this trip. We first woke up and then had breakfast. Then we went straight into the day. Now if anyone truly knows me, they know that I am a die hard Disney fan. I have been my whole life thus far and I always will be. So when I was given the opportunity to work with the animators at DisneyWorld, you can imagine the amount of joy I expressed. Today was my first day in my apprenticeship with the animators and I was pretty nervous. However when I arrived and was introduced/welcomed by everyone, it was a pretty incredible experience. We talked about all our favorite Disney films and we drew a lot! I learned all about how characters are created and it was a lot of fun. We all had lunch together and I learned so much. I was the only intern out of a group of animators so I was able to ask all the questions that I wanted to. It was truly an incr...

Hello readers and welcome back to yet another day of my spring at sage trip! It is the third day on the trip here in sunny Orlando, Florida and we are right in the midst of the unique artistic culture here! Today we awoke and then had breakfast at the hotel. We then chose to go for a morning walk around the town since the district is so historic. After that, we chose a nice area to sit at and practiced some art leaning towards to the style of Louis Comfort Tiffany, who is the artist we began to study yesterday. We were there for a couple hours and the weather was quite enjoyable. After that we had some lunch in the park and continued to draw. After lunch we returned to the Morse museum to meet with one of the historians there who have been studying Louis Comfort Tiffany's work for over 15 years! I was taught about his life and the things that a lot of people do not know about. It was extremely powerful to hear about where he started. We then had dinner and returned to our hotel roo...

Day 1!

Hello readers! Thanks for visiting my blog about my spring at sage trip! During this trip, i will be exploring the long forgotten art in Orlando Florida. By learning the artists crafts and history, i will be able to be in their shoes and be immersed in their world. I have also been granted the opportunity to work with the animators at Disney to be able to take some workshops and talk directly to head animators for Disney studios. Now that I’ve relayed an initial backstory, here is what i did for day 1! We arrived in Florida at 6:30am on Tuesday morning, which is about 3:30am California time! So we were very tired to say the least!! We went straight from the airport to our hotel. After we were all checked in and unpacked, we went right along with the schedule for the day!! We got breakfast at the hotel, we then went to the Arts and Garden museum! This museum was so beautiful! It was a mix of contemporary and classic art! We really enjoyed our time touring there.
