Day 4!

Image
Welcome once again readers to my blog! Today is day 4 on my journey and we are moving right into the next line of artists that we will be exploring on this trip. We first woke up and then had breakfast. Then we went straight into the day. Now if anyone truly knows me, they know that I am a die hard Disney fan. I have been my whole life thus far and I always will be. So when I was given the opportunity to work with the animators at DisneyWorld, you can imagine the amount of joy I expressed. Today was my first day in my apprenticeship with the animators and I was pretty nervous. However when I arrived and was introduced/welcomed by everyone, it was a pretty incredible experience. We talked about all our favorite Disney films and we drew a lot! I learned all about how characters are created and it was a lot of fun. We all had lunch together and I learned so much. I was the only intern out of a group of animators so I was able to ask all the questions that I wanted to. It was truly an incr...

Hello readers and welcome back to yet another day of my spring at sage trip! It is the third day on the trip here in sunny Orlando, Florida and we are right in the midst of the unique artistic culture here! Today we awoke and then had breakfast at the hotel. We then chose to go for a morning walk around the town since the district is so historic. After that, we chose a nice area to sit at and practiced some art leaning towards to the style of Louis Comfort Tiffany, who is the artist we began to study yesterday. We were there for a couple hours and the weather was quite enjoyable. After that we had some lunch in the park and continued to draw. After lunch we returned to the Morse museum to meet with one of the historians there who have been studying Louis Comfort Tiffany's work for over 15 years! I was taught about his life and the things that a lot of people do not know about. It was extremely powerful to hear about where he started. We then had dinner and returned to our hotel roo...

After a couple hours of that we went to have lunch in the districts. We then went along to study the art of Louis Comfort Tiffany. He is a well known artist in Florida. He is known for his glass work and paintings. His style is semi realism with expression. His art is very inspiring and is truly beautiful. We viewed his exhibit at the Morse Musuem. It was very interesting to read about his life and what inspired him. We spent many hours at this museum and it was very enjoyable! After that, i sat on the balcony of our hotel and drew what i saw. It was super relaxing and exciting to draw in a new environment. After that we went in for the night. We spent mos...

Day 1!

Hello readers! Thanks for visiting my blog about my spring at sage trip! During this trip, i will be exploring the long forgotten art in Orlando Florida. By learning the artists crafts and history, i will be able to be in their shoes and be immersed in their world. I have also been granted the opportunity to work with the animators at Disney to be able to take some workshops and talk directly to head animators for Disney studios. Now that I’ve relayed an initial backstory, here is what i did for day 1! We arrived in Florida at 6:30am on Tuesday morning, which is about 3:30am California time! So we were very tired to say the least!! We went straight from the airport to our hotel. After we were all checked in and unpacked, we went right along with the schedule for the day!! We got breakfast at the hotel, we then went to the Arts and Garden museum! This museum was so beautiful! It was a mix of contemporary and classic art! We really enjoyed our time touring there. After that we received l...
